Round 13 Challengers - Who will make 13 their lucky number?

We're back for another great round of the 

Battle of the Stitches!  

This round, we've changed things up a bit so we hope you'll stick around and have some fun with us.  You'll get your chance to vote for your favorite crochet design out from 10 different designers all using the same crochet stitch.  While we no longer will be releasing an eBook with all of the designs, each designer will be releasing them on the same day.  Be sure to follow us for your chance to win some prizes along the way!

All 10 challengers are returning Battle of the Stitches Alumni and we're excited they joined us!First up, we have Cylinda from Crochet Memories.  Cylinda is well known for her work with thread and has such a wonderful collection of designs for the home.  You can find her work here: www.crochetmemories.com

Round 12 - Meet the Challengers Part 1.

We're kicking off another round of Battle of the Stitches! It's gearing up to be a round full of awesome patterns, so let's introduce this round's challengers.

 

Challenger 1: Lisa Jelle from Kaleidoscope Arts&Gifts

One of Lisa's favorite patterns from her shop is her Enchanted Ivy Wings (named after her daughter).

Her Hadley Hooded Shrug is one of my favorites from her shop.

Challenger 2: Sarah Tompkins from Briar Rose Boutique

Sarah's pick from her shop is the Gary & Goldie Giraffe set.

Her Enchanting Sweater Dress was a Fan Favorite in round 10 of BOS.

A new Battle Round with a new Battle team

Hi everyone.  Kate here from Crafting Friends Designs and founder of the Battle of the Stitches.  I'm thrilled to see you again!  With the start of a new quarter, it's time to start another round of the Battle.  It's crazy that we are already on Round 10!  It has been a fun couple of years and a great adventure meeting new crochet designers and getting to know each of them.  

Each round, I have 3 other designers join me as admins for the Battle.  The challenge wouldn't run as smooth as it does without their help and I sincerely appreciate them! Along with helping behind scenes, each of us design something fun for the ebook along side the challengers.  We couldn't ask them to design with a new stitch and theme if we're not willing to do so with them - right?   This round, we have chosen a fun stitch for fall and we hope that you will follow along with all 12 challengers and cheer them on.  It's sure to be another fantastic ebook full of 16 amazing crochet designs using the same stitch.

This round, I'm pleased to welcome Stacy back from Too Yarn Cute to help us with the eBook.  All of our eBooks can be found on Ravelry to make it easy for you to save them to your library when purchased. Stacy will make sure all the crochet patterns are set up well for you to follow and add several links to each designer to make it easy to follow them on various social sites or contact them directly if needed.  

Leah from Creative Threads by Leah has jumped into the role of  Facebook page Admin.  

She has a wonderful group of women who help her share some wonderful things on our page that you're sure to enjoy.  Thanks to Pamela Emerson, Patricia Mannarino, Darcy Johnson, Nondas Hensley, Carol Rupprecht, Cecilia Edwards,  and Laura Fanelli for working with us on Facebook and Hollie Bobo for helping out on Pinterest!  They are awesome and we hope that you will join them each day and interact with them!  They love hearing all of your comments and seeing photos of things you have crocheted using patterns designed during the Battle.



Stacey from Busting Stitches will be joining us here on the blog.  This week, she will be announcing our 12 challengers for Round 10 and sharing a few of their designs with you.  She's the lucky one who gets to show you the sneak peeks of each design in a couple of weeks and will announce our winner at the end of July.  Be sure to follow us here on the blog or on Facebook so you don't miss your chance to vote for your favorite crochet design this round!

January 2016 CAL using the Crochet Stitch from Round 8 of the Battle of the Stitches

Welcome to our first Battle of the Stitches CAL!  We are excited to invite you to work on a project along with all of our Round 8 Battle of the Stitches challengers.  We will be using the stitch that is being worked right now by 12 fantastic challengers.
This is a great way to learn a new stitch and then have a fun variety of projects to work up using this stitch when you're finished.

This Crochet-A-Long will be held for 9 days Beginning January 15th.  We will post 1 row of instructions each day so it will be easy to keep up.

You get to choose your project!
~Table Runner
~Placemat
~Rug 
~Afghan.  

You choose the size that you want to work. 
What you will need:
YARN!!! The great part about this is that YOU get to choose any 4ww yarn you prefer for this project and desired hook.
I am using Deborah Norville Everyday yarn and a size K hook for my project.

This is a VERY textured stitch and will look great in a single color or many.  Color changes will look best every 4 rows.
So take a few days to go through your yarn stash, decide which project you're going to work and find the perfect colors to start!
